The Foundation for Arable Research (FAR) confirmed the principal disease affecting New Zealand wheat crops over the past four years had developed resistance to a fungicide group which until recently had been most effective in controlling it.
The fungicides are commonly known as strobilurins, which includes those containing any of the following active ingredients: azoxystrobin, pyraclostrobin, fluoxastrobin, picoxystrobin and trifloxystrobin.
